Rapid Action Battalion held three members of the banned Islamic militant outfit Jamaatul Mujahidin Bangladesh (JMB) in two separate raids in the district early yesterday.
The arrestees are Md. Azibul Hoque, 53, son of late Nefaur Rahman at Dhobra Motibazar village, Md. Saiful Islam, 35, son of Md. Saidur Rahman of the aforesaid village and Md. Tajamul Hoque, 46, son of Md. Ainal Hoque at Laxmipur village under Shibganj upazila of the district.
RAB-5 said on information, an operational team of the elite force led by Deputy Commanding officer Major AM Ashraful Islam and Company Commander Mohammad Sayeed Abdullah Al-Murad raided a mango orchard in Kamardaha area in Sadar Upazila at around 3 am and held Azibul and Siful.
Later on their confessional statements RAB men in another drive held Tajamul from his house at Laxmipur village in Shibganj upazila.
RAB also recovered four revolutionary books and three SIM cards from their positions.
The JMB men were handed over to the concerned police stations with cases.
