After a brilliant centuries by Mushfiqur Rahaim and Nasir Hossain, Shane Melvon Jeffers also hit a brilliant ton on the second day but the three-day match seemed heading for a tame draw.
The local side St Kitts & Nevis gave a good reply in their first innings scoring 232 for 4 in 73 overs at stumps against Bangladesh held on Sunday at the St Kitts, West Indies.
Opener Jeffers played an impressive 118 runs off 131-ball hitting 22 boundaries to take the local side to a strong position with experienced batsman Shivnarine Chanderpau, who scored an unbeaten 70 runs.
Shuvagata Hom, Mahmudullah, Taijul Islam and Rubel Hossain bagged one wicket each for home side.
Earlier, Bangladesh resumed their first innings with 330 for 6 on the second day and finally declared their innings at 377 for 7.
The Bangladesh skipper was the first to reach the three-figure mark and remained not out on 106 off 170 balls, with eight fours and three sixes. All rounder Nasir managed his first fifty-plus score since early June, grinding out 100 off 153 balls. The pair added 191 runs for the seventh wicket but the moment Nasir got out, Mushfiqur placed the onus on his bowlers. But they did not respond well.
Quinton Boatswain and Jeremiah Lewis both finished their spell with 47 and 57 runs respectively.
