RFL official murder: Three confess involvement

Three accused arrested in connection with the killing of an official of RFL company on Monday made confessions admitting their involvement in the murder.
They are: Abdul Haque Rony alias Babu, 19, the prime suspect, Sujon alias Shahjala, 21, and Awal Hawlader, 26.
RAB-1 Commanding Officer Lt Col Sarwar Bin Kashem informed this at a press briefing held at RAB media centre in the capital yesterday. He said the elite force arrested the
trio, including the prime suspect from Tongi in Gazipur on Saturday. The RAB official said on secret information, a team of the elite force conducted a drive at Ershad Nagar area in Tongi around 2:30am and nabbed them on the spot.
 A blood-stained knife and an auto-rickshaw used in the killing, and the victim’s mobile phone set were also recovered from their possessions.
In their statements, the trio confessed that they are the members of a mugger gang. Of the accused- Babu is a bus driver, Awal an auto-rickshaw driver and Sujon was a bus conductor.
Earlier on Saturday, Kamrul Islam, 35, a zonal manager RFL Sylhet office, was stabbed to death by muggers in Tongi. He came to Dhaka two days before the incident to join a meeting. The muggers also took his mobile phone set, laptop and Tk 35,000 in cash. Later, the victim’s younger brother filed the case with Tongi Police Station accusing some 3/4 unknown miscreants.
