Three alleged female militants held in Kushtia

Police arrested three alleged female militants including wife of sitting Ameer, from the suspicious militant hideout at Taltala of Bamonpara area of Bheramara upazila of Kushtia disrict on Saturday (yesterday).
The law enforcers raided the house suspecting it to be a militant den since Friday night. So far, three women have been arrested and taken to the police custody. They have two children with them.
The neighbouring houses were evacuated during the operations.
The detainees were identified as Tithi, wife of neo-JMB leader Ayub Bachchu and Sumaiya, wife of neo-JMB second-in-command Rashed of Bheramara upazila.
Additional Superintendent of Police of Bheramara Upazila Circle Kamrul Hassan said that Tithi and Sumaiya were staying in the house alone with their children. Superintendent of Police, Kushtia SM Mehdi Hassan said, on the basis of secret information, the Counter Terrorism Unit and District Police jointly started the operation to nab them. He claimed that a suicide vest, a pistol, a magazine and some quantity of gunpowder were recovered from them.
