Threat to expatriate’s family

An elderly person and his son were allegedly assaulted by some unknown miscreants at his village home in Comilla on 26 November 26 .
 Sources said that some extremists suddenly visited the house of Birendra Kumar Singha of village Dupchar under Laksam Police Station of Comilla district and started looking for his son Suranjit Kumar Singha at around 7.15 pm.
They assaulted Birendra and his younger son Manik Singha physically when Birendra refused to provide any information about Suranjit.
The attackers also ransacked the home and took away the valuables with them.
 While leaving the spot , they threatened Birendra Kumar Singha saying that they would not allow him and his family to live in that area if Suranjit had not withdrawn the case filed against them.
The fanatics assaulted Birendra Kumar Singha also on August 3 this year when they came to his home looking for his son Suranjit Kumar Singha.
In such a panic-stricken situation Birendra Kumar Singha and his family are passing their days amid insecurity. They sought adequate security measures from the authorities concerned.
Mentionable, Suranjit Kumar Singha, a businessman by profession, recently left the country for the USA along with his wife and the sons after being assaulted and wounded by some unidentified persons in the evening of 28 June 2015 Sunday in Chittagong.
 It is alleged that some miscreants repeatedly threatened him over phone of doing physical harm to him and his family members.
He is involved with different social, humanitarian and religious organisations including Rissho Kosei-kai based in Japan.
