Several thousand people of Nawapara industrial town and adjacent areas enjoyed a boat race held in the River Bhairab on Friday.
Several thousand people including a number of women and children gathered on both the sides of the river to enjoy the rowing.
Well decorated boats with different names took part the race arranged by Nawapara Municipality in association with SAF Industries Limited in the afternoon.
Nawapara wore festive look following the race. Village people queued along Bhairab and enjoyed the rowing with their nearest and dearest ones.
Talking to The New Nation, Shamol paul, lecturer of a local college told that he came to view the race as it is a part of the legendary Bangladesh.
