More than 11 years noted actress
of television and theatre, Momena Chowdhury has been staging her solo drama titled ‘Lal Jamin’ in and outside the country. Till now she has received huge appreciations from the audience for staging this solo drama for 307 times. This time the actress dreams to stage this drama in the country’s colleges to colleges. To fulfil her dream, she has already contacted with Cultural Affairs Ministry and Education Ministry. Momena hopes she will get positive response from these two ministries in this regard.
While talking in this regard, Momena Chowdhury said, “Lal Jamin’ has created a milestone in the history of the country’s theatre plays. In case of this solo drama, it has also achieved an example for staging more than 300 times till date. I give thanks to Cultural Affairs Ministry to co-operate me for staging this solo drama in different districts of the country. This time I want to stage this drama in the country’s colleges to colleges. I have already contacted with two ministries. I believe these two ministries will response positively in this regard. If it is happened, Inshallah I will start staging ‘Lal Jamin’ in colleges of different districts including Dhaka from November. I have always cordialness and loves to audience. In fact, only for audience’s demands ‘Lal Jamin’ has come into this position.”
Directed by Sudip Chakraborty, Mannan Hira wrote story of ‘Lal Jamin,’ it was first production of Shunyan Repertory Theatre.
Meanwhile, Momena Chowdhury is also acting regularly in television dramas. Now she is acting in Kaiser Ahmed’s ongoing serial ‘Bokulpur Returns,’ Kaiser Ahmed and Al Hazen’s serial ‘Golmal,’ and Omar Uzzal and Habib Shakil’s drama serial ‘Songsar.’ Therefore, Momena starrer and Indian director Bijaya Jena directed drama serial ‘Balighor’ will go on air on NTV soon. Momena starrer two movies – Amitabh Reza Chowdhury directed ‘Rickshaw Girl’ and Ashutosh Sujon directed ‘Deshantor’ – are waiting to get release dates. She played in pivotal roles in these two movies, said the actress.
It is noted that Momena Chowdhury starrer released movies are: Belal Ahmed’s ‘Anishchit Jatra,’ Delwar Jahan Jhontu’s ‘Epar Opar,’ Golam Rabbani Biplob’s ‘Swapnodanay’ (Momena’s first acted film), and Tauquir Ahmed’s ‘Oggatonama.’
