Another victim of Cumilla bus fire died at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
75-year old Golam Hossain, who sustained 31 percents burns, died at the intensive care unit of the hospital around 10:30am on Monday morning, said the hospital residential surgeon Dr Partha Shankar Paul.
Golam Hossain’s daughter and granddaughter also sustained burns in the fire on Thursday afternoon. Later, they were released from hospital.
Two more passengers who sustained burns in the fire are currently undergoing treatment in the hospital’s ICU and High Dependency Unit while rests were released, the doctors said.
Two people were killed and 20 were injured when the bus heading for Chandpur’s Matlab from Dhaka reached Gouripur bus stand area around 6:30pm on Thursday, police said.
Police later filed a case with Daudkandi police station against the bus driver and owner of the fire incident.
