Swedish Ambassador in Dhaka Johan Frisell on Wednesday said Bangladesh as a country resilient against any odds and political disturbances would find a solution to current situation.
“I’m very confident that there’ll be a solution to this (political situation),” he said describing Bangladesh as a country of resilience which had successfully overcome many challenges in the past.
The Swedish diplomat was addressing a press conference on the visit of Swedish trade delegation at Sonargaon Hotel here in the evening.
He said Bangladesh is developing rapidly and continues its steady and high growth rate, growing middle class and large scale development ambitions under the umbrella of Vision 2021, which intends to lead the country into a middle-income status.
“Many of the investments needed are in the sectors of infrastructure, power, telecommunications, roads, bridges and transport,” said the diplomat adding that these are sectors where Swedish companies can offer high quality solutions, products and services.
He mentioned that so many Swedish companies are exploring the possibility to enter the Bangladeshi market or, for those already established here, to further expand.
“This trade delegation in the area of infrastructure and transport as well as the new trade statistics are signs of diversification of the trade between our countries into other sectors,” said the diplomat.
