Staff Reporter :
Thefts took place in the snuggery of the courtroom in the Chandpur District and Sessions Judge.
According to the court officials, the incident took place probably in the mid-night on Saturday (May 7). They said the miscreants broke the railing of the second floor of the judge’s court, opened the door of the courtroom and entered. They then put electrical appliances, CCTV camera monitors, computer CPUs, tissue boxes, glasses, sound system sets, water heating flux, car paper, several multiplugs in sacks from the snuggery (Khas Kamra) and brought these to a sinkhole in the court area. However, the authorities have confirmed that no documents were lost from the khas room of the District and Sessions Judge. Officials said that the thief randomly left important documents on the table used by the district judge on the floor. However, the night guard on duty in the court area did not notice the matter even though they (miscreants) stayed in the Khas Kamra and courtroom of the district judge for a long time.
On Sunday (May 8), after 8 am, District Judge’s Office Assistant Basu came to open the door and saw the door of the snuggery (Khas Kamra) open. When he informed the Nazir about the matter, the higher authorities could know the matter.
At 10:30 of Sunday morning Chandpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Milon Mahmud, a team of Chandpur Model Police, CID, PBI and District Detective Branch (DB) police visited the spot and saw the signs of theft.
In this regard, efforts to contact with Chandpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Milon Mahmud over phone went in vain.
