Dhaka is now at the top of air pollution in the world. According to a report by IQ Air, a Swiss-based organization that monitors global air quality, Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, is at the top of the pollution list along with Dhaka.
Researchers and research institutes working on air pollution say that dust is one of the sources of air pollution in Dhaka. When these dust particles are in the mouth, people spit and spit everywhere. It can again mix with the dust and enter the human body through various means. Another source is the burning of coal and biofuels as well as smoke and dust from various sources, including urban mechanics. These scatter tiny particles in the air, which is harmful to human health.
According to researchers, other causes of air pollution include brick kilns, industrial fumes, vehicle fumes and dust from road and building materials.
As a result, the general population is becoming increasingly ill with respiratory diseases. The people along with the government have to take appropriate measures to avoid this situation. Awareness needs to be created.
