Test cricketer Amit Mishra released on bail

Indian cricketer Amit Misra has been arrested and subsequently released on bail, in Bangalore in connection with the case assault filed against him by a women.
Mishra is part of the Indian Test squad and will play against South Africa in a four-match series starting from November 7.
The complainant had alleged that Mishra assaulted her in his room in a hotel on Residency Road. He was in Bangalore for training in end of September.
Mishra arrived at the Cubbon Park police station at 11 am and spent close to three hours with Ashok Nagar police inspector Vijaya Hadagali.
According to Sandeep Patil, Deputy Commissioner Central, “Enquiry with regard to the assault complaint was done.
Mishra was questioned for 3 hours from 11am following which he was arrested and released on bail as it’s a bail able offence.”
The woman had visited Mishra’s hotel room where he was staying during the training on September 25.
According to the complaint lodged by the woman, there was a verbal fight between the two and quickly escalated with Mishra throwing at her a kettle.
The Ashoknagar police had issued a notice to Mishra and ask him to appear in front of the police for investigation.
The complaint was registered on September 27.
