Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader MP said those who are marked terrorists, extortionists, illegal drug traders and evil forces of communalism won’t be included as members of Awami League(AL).”
He said this while addressing as chief guest in a huge public meeting arranged on the occasion of launching new member collection and renewal of the memberships programme on Harimohon Government Highschool premises on Wednesday.
It was arranged by the Chapainawabganj district unit of Awami League.
It was held with the president of the Chapainawabganj district unit of Awami League Moinuddin Mondol in the chair.
Among others, central joint secretary of AL Jahangir Kabir Nanak MP, central organizing secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury MP, members of the central committee AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and Nurul Islam Thandu and secretary of the Chapainawabganj district unit of AL and law maker of Chapainawabganj sadar constituency Md. Abdul Wadud.
The minister said that new and women voters would be the main weapon for Sheikh Hasina’s win in the next polls.
He asked the nomination seekers from Awami League for sound competitions and warned them by saying that the party president Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina is collecting information and she would nominate those who are acceptable to the people. She did not give permanent lease to anybody and those who will not work well will have to leave the path, he said.
He also asked his party leaders not to take bad people in the party arguing that good people would go away seeing the bad people.
He again asked them to go to the people and love them leaving flattery. ” None can be leaders by occupying the stage. You are to win the love of the mass people to be leaders.”

He suggested his party men to increase contact with people and make them know the truth by doing home stead meeting and forming village committees. About BNP he said, “BNP is now existing in the name as they did not have any achievement during the last eight years. They only give threats of movement every month. They are now depending on garland of words and lies to win the next polls.”
About the achievement of the government he said that no previous governments could do the development as the AL government did. He
cited examples of old age allowance, widow allowance, freedom fighters allowance, empowerment of women, bills paying facilities through
digital centres, providing eight crore people with internet facilities and so on.
Criticising BNP the minister said, during and after the elections of 5th January, BNP torched vote centres and schools, killed thousands of
people by burning, cut roads and trees. He asked people if they want to go to that night mare period. He again asked people to vote for
that party which gave them development and all necessary facilities.
Before this he laid the foundation stone of four development projects.
