UNB, Khulna :
An alleged top-terrorist was shot to death by miscreants on Khulna- Jessore highway in Shiromoni intersection area of the city on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam alias Hoji, 38, son of Shawkat Ali, a resident of Pabla Hoji Bari under Daulatpur Police Station of the city.
He was a listed criminal and accused in seven cases, including murder, abduction and extortion cases filed with Daulatpur Police Station.
A gang of miscreants riding on two motorcycles attacked Shahidul on the highway when he was returning to his house around 4pm by his private car, said Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of
Daulatpur Police Station.
The miscreants broke the glasses of the car and opened fire at him, which left him critically injured.
He was rushed to Khulna Medical College, and later shifted to Gazi Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the evening.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Khulna Medical College Hospital,
Police also recovered a bullet shell from the private.
