As an outlook for the next 72 hours, Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Saturday predicted: “Temperature may rise further”. The Met office also forecasted dry weather over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
“Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, having chances of rain or thunder showers at one or two places over Sylhet division,” said the Met Office in a release issued this morning.
Meanwhile, a mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Madaripur, Sandwip, Feni, Rajshahi, Khulna, Bagerhat,
Jashore, Chudanga and Khepupara and it may continue and spread, the release said.
Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, it added.
The country’s maximum temperature was recorded yesterday at 37.5 degrees Celsius at Khulna and the minimum temperature today was recorded at 18.5 degrees Celsius at Srimangal under the Sylhet division.
The sun sets at 6:24 pm today and rises at 5:29 am tomorrow in the capital.
