A teenage boy died while peeking his head through a bus window in the city’s Mirpur area on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Abul Hashem, 19, a student of Tejgaon Polytechnic Institute, said Sub-Inspector Bachchu Mia, In-charge of the Police Outpost at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
Hashem was going to Uttara from Paikpara by a passenger bus at about 9:30am. To see something or out of curiosity, he peeked his head through
the window, but he did not know that death was waiting for him. Just then, his head hit against another passenger bus, a police official said.
With critical head injuries, he was rushed to the DMCH where the on duty doctors declared him dead, he said.
The body was handed over to the relatives of the victim, the SI said.
There occurred a similar tragic death on February 7 at Mohakhali in the city. His name was Sakibul Islam, 15. He was student of Banani Bidya Niketon School.
