Police recovered the hanging body of a teenage girl from Jangail village of Companyganj upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Taslima Akhter, 16, daughter of Attar Ali, resident of the village in Ronikhai union.
Locals spotted Taslima’s hanging body from a tree in the morning and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital, said Dilwip Kanti Nath, officer-in-charge of Companyganj Police Station.
Family members said that Taslima might have committed suicide as she has been suffering from mental sickness.
A UD case was filed.
