A student of class nine was stabbed to death in Dholaipar area at Shyampur of the Dhaka city on Sunday afternoon (Sep 4).
The deceased was identified as Nayan Islam (16), son of one Kamrul Islam.
According to sources, Nayan was found lying in a pool of blood in Balurmath area of Dholaipar around 2:30pm.
After that his two friends and family members rescued him and rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where the duty doctor declared him dead around 3:15pm.
The deceased’s father Kamrul Islam said his son did not go to school today. “We do not know who stabbed him,” he said.
“We could not figure out why my son was stabbed, he said.
Shyampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mofizul Alam confirmed the matter to the media saying that police were sent to the spot and hospital.
Details will soon be disclosed, OC said.
