Spreading and popularising technical education and latest technologies have become a need of the time to accelerate development in building a middle income nation through realising the vision 2021.
The observation came at a course orientation and reception ceremony of the newly admitted students in three new technological courses followed by cultural function at Panchagarh Government Technical School & College on Tuesday.
The newly admitted 169 students in the four-year term diploma courses in electrical engineering, computer engineering and tourism & hospitality along with their guardians, teachers and elite of the sub-Himalayan district town were present.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Panchagarh Amal Krishna Mandal attended the function as the chief guest with Principal of the reputed technical educational institution Engineer Dr Syeed Abdul Aziz in the chair.
President of Panchagarh Chamber of Commerce & Industry Ashraful Alam Patwari, Chief Executive Officer of Jem Jute Limited Lt Colonel (Retd) Abdul Monayem, Deputy Director of Technical Education Board (TEB) Shamsul Alam spoke as special guests.
Guardians Anwar Hossain and Shabana Parveen, newly admitted students Abdul Aziz and Ummey Habiba addressed the function, among others.
Welcoming the students in the institution, Principal narrated importance of popularising technical education and latest technologies among them to produce able human resources and experts befitting for the 21st century.
Shamsul Alam said the rate of admission to the technical educational institutions increased significantly in recent years producing huge skilled workforces like engineers working for building a developed digitised Bangladesh.
The chief guest termed information and communication technology based technical education as key to success and stressed on creating opportunities for the young generations to get time-befitting technical and vocational education.
Later, the student-artists of the reputed educational institution rendered various colourful programmes in a cultural function.
