State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Nasrul Hamid said technical audit is needed for making power sector more modern and time-befitting.
“We can take various decisions on the power plants including closing the plants and making duel fuel or re-powering the plants by conducting technical audit,” he said this on Wednesday while addressing a discussion on technical audit report on power plants of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) at Bidyut Bhaban in the city.
He underscored the need for developing human resources to further accelerate the sector.
Among others, Power Secretary Monowar Islam and BPDB Chairman M Shamsul Hasan Miah also spoke.
