The teachers of non-government educational institutions in a rally on Friday expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the government since it cleared their (teachers) arrear salaries and allowances.
“We are happy because the government paid our due salaries as per given commitment. It will accelerate our spirit in doing
our professional duty,” they said. The rally was organized in front of the National Press Club under the banner of Bangladesh Teachers’ Association (BTA).
BTA President Md Azizul Islam, Acting Secretary General Md Mohsin Reza and Additional Secretary General Khan Mosharraf Hossain, among others, addressed the rally.
The leaders of the BTA thanked the Prime Minister and the Education Minister for their pro-education guiding principle. They said, the teachers are architect of education and we shall not forget our duty to the nation.
Md Azizul Islam said, the government has probed that they can respect the teachers. It is urgent to show respect to the teachers for building a better generation through proper education, he said.
He called upon the teachers across the country not to involve them in dirty politics, but in teaching.
He asked the teachers to get them ready to meet the emergency of the state as and when necessary.
Earlier in the morning, the BTA leaders brought out a procession starting from the Central Shaheed Minar premises. It ended in front of the National Press Club after parading through the capital.
About five hundred teachers from the city and outside Dhaka took part in the procession with smiling face.
