A case was filed against a teacher of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) under the ICT Act on Saturday for posting the bloodstained photo of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with an offensing caption meant for the protesters of Shahbagh on social media site Facebook.
M Shahjahan, general secretary of Sitakuda upazila unit of Jubo League, filed the case under section 57 of Information and Technology Act against Umar Sharif, a part-time teacher of Business Administration Department at IIUC, said officer-in-charge of Sitakunda Police Station Iftekhar Hasan.
According to the case statement, Umar Sharif posted the bloodstained photo of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his Facebook wall on Wednesday and wrote “The inhuman Shahbagi gang (protesters of Shahbagh) might have forgotten the lungi of the ‘National Papa’.
