Unidentified miscreants chopped to death a night guard of a tea garden at Mohammadpur area under Fatikchhari upazila of the district on Thursday night.
The victim was identified as Mohammad Belal Hossain, 50, hailing from Paglachhari area under Bhujpur Thana of Fatikchhari upazila.
Quoting victim’s family members, police said Belal was critically injured as unidentified miscreants chopped him in the tea garden located at Datmara area of Mohammadpur village around 11pm on Thursday night.
Getting victim’s phone call, his family members rushed to the tea garden and found him lying in the pool of blood, police added.
He was rushed to a local health complex where attending doctors declared him dead. A case was filed in this connection with the concerned police station, a district police sources said.
