TCB’s open market sale (OMS) programme of key essential items through family card is set to start simultaneously (1st phase) outside Dhaka city corporation from March 20, 2022.
Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB), the government trading arm, is now selling the essential commodities by using 400-450 trucks across the country, Humayun Kabir, a spokesperson of TCB, told this reporter.
Under the current regular OMS, Soybean oil is being sold at Tk 110 per litre while sugar at Tk 55 per kg, lentil at Tk 65 per kg, and onion at Tk 30 per kg, Mr Kabir said.
A consumer can buy a maximum of two kgs of sugar, two kgs of lentils and two litres of soybean oil from TCB trucks, the TCB spokesman said.
