Tasneem made HC to UK

The Government has decided to appoint Saida Muna Tasneem, Ambassador of Bangladesh in Thailand, as the new High Commissioner of Bangladesh in the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Md. Nazmul Quaunine, currently serving as the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the United Kingdom, has been made the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Thailand.
Saida Muna Tasneem, a career diplomat, is a BCS
 (Foreign Affairs) Cadre, according to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday.
As a distinguished diplomatic career, Tasneem served in Bangladesh Permanent Mission to the UN in New York and Bangladesh High Commission in London in various capacities. At the headquarters, she served as Director General for United Nations and External Publicity Wings.
Tasneem obtained her B.Sc. (Engineering) degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka in 1988. She also did her M.Sc. in Public Policy and Management from School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, says the release.
Md. Nazmul Quaunine is a career foreign service officer belonging to 1985 batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS), Foreign Affairs cadre. In his distinguished diplomatic career, Quaunine earlier served as Ambassador of Bangladesh to Indonesia and United Arab Emirates and also in various capacities in Bangladesh Missions in London, Islamabad, Washington, Kolkata and Geneva. At the headquarters, he served as Director General in charge of Europe and External Publicity Wings.
Quaunine graduated from the Dhaka Medical College. After joining the service, he also undertook post graduate training on Diplomatic Studies at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland as well as Executive Training Course at the South Asian Center for Strategic Studies, Washington D.C. Quaunine is married and blessed with a son and a daughter.
