The maiden edition of the Twenty20 tournament will get underway on October 5 with the involvement of the five franchisee teams including Kabul, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Balkh and Paktia.
The 21-year-old quick did not find a team during the auction on September 30. But he has now been picked by Kandahar for a reported fee of $30 thousand.
He will play with Brendon McCullum, Sam Billings, Karim Janat, Najib Zadran, Paul Sterling, Wahab Riaz, Asghar Stanikzai, Tymal Mills, Iftikhar Ahmad, Hamza Hotak, Karim Sadiq, Sayed Shirzad and Mohammad Naveed.
The right-handed fast-bowler took his non-objection certificate (NOC) from the Cricket Operation of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Taskin himself admitted the matter before leaving Mirpur on Tuesday afternoon. The fast bowler was scheduled to join Bangladesh teammates Tamim Iqbal and wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, who both picked up by Nangarhar.
The Afghanistan Premier League 2018 is organized by Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and is scheduled to be held from October 05 to October 21 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It features 23 matches, including twenty playoff matches (each team playing each other twice), two semi-finals, and the final.
