Due to a return of a back issue, Bangladesh pace bowler Taskin Ahmed will miss the remainder of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20.
An MRI revealed that his suffering is the result of a previous injury, and they are unwilling to take any chances with him because he will be needed during the home series against Afghanistan.
Instead of Taskin, AKS Swadhin has been included in the Sylhet squad. The 19-year-old pacer has never played in the BPL before. Swadhin also had the opportunity to play two matches in the latest National Cricket League (NCL).
Sajid Mustahid, media manager of Sylhet, confirmed the matter.
“Taskin will not be able to play in the rest of the BPL. The old pain on his waist came up again. He has had an MRI,”
“But since the Afghanistan series is ahead, he didn’t want to take the risk. He is currently with the team. In his place we have taken AKS Swadhin in the squad,” he added.
