Five Bangladeshi cricketers were picked in the second edition of Lanka Premier League T20 will be played from December 5-24.
The first round matches will be played in Colombo while final round matches will be played in Hambantota.
Mohammad Mithun, Nazmul Hossain Apu and Mehedy Hasan Rana were by Kandy Warriors while Al Amin Hossain and Taskin Ahmed were picked by Colombo Stars for the tournament that is going to take place with the existing five teams. The other three teams are Jaffna Kings, Galle Gladiators and Dambulla Giants.
Players were divided into: Icon Overseas and Local (USD 60000), Diamond Overseas and Local (USD 50000), Gold Overseas A and Local A (USD 40000), Gold Overseas B and Local B (USD 25000), Classic Overseas and Local (USD 15000), Emerging Local (USD 10000), Supplementary Local 1, 2, 3, 4 (USD 3000).
Some front-line T20 players like Chris Gayle, Imran Tahir, Faf du Plessis, Mohammad Hafeez, Tabraiz Shamsi were drafted in by various teams. Local stars like Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Avishka Fernando, Dushamantha Chameera, Dasun Shanaka too were picked by the teams from the draft.
