Taskforce formed to relocate inflammable chemical warehouses from old Dhaka had severed utility services from 109 holdings till Thursday as those buildings had chemicals.
Taskforce members disconnected utility services from 15 holdings on Thursday -the seventh consecutive day of the drive- after finding inflammable chemicals. It also directed 11 more holding owners to remove nflammable materials within stipulated days.
It disconnected utility lines from seven holdings on the Nazim Uddin Road and Hosni Dalan Road after finding polithene and plastic raw materials.
The taskforce also severed utility services from five holdings at Kalunagor, Vagalpur, NS Road and at Hazaribagh and three more holdings on the North-South Road and at Siddiq Bazar.
It has warned six foam and paint warehouses in old Mughaltuli and Malitola to suffer if relocation is not done.
The taskforce has also given different timeframe to relocate five chemical warehouses from Waiz Ghat and Islampur.
It warned of stern action in the event of their failure to relocate.
The searching drives against inflammable chemicals started after inferno at Chawkbazar caused devastation on February 20 night which claimed around 70 lives.
The drives will be continued by April 1.
