National Film Award winner noted actor and director Shahiduzzaman Selim generally engages with acting. When he likes any story he tries to give direction. Recently he has made a telefilm with such type of a story. Title of the telefilm is Du’Phonta Samurdo.
Director Selim informed that Iraj Ahmed wrote story of the telefilm. Shooting of the telefilm has been done recently in the city’s Uttara area. The telefilm will be aired on Channel i at 2:35pm on August 12.
In the telefilm, against Selim popular TV actress Tareen acted. Naim and Shamima Tusty. By this telefilm Tareen has worked under Selim’s direction after three years. She last worked under his direction in a serial titled Sangrila, which was aired on SA TV in Eid-ul-Fitr in 2013.
While talking about to sat Tareen in his directed telefilm Selim told this correspondent, “Suchitra Sen is one of my favourite actresses. There are many stories about her exiled life. In the story of the telefilm, I got a reflection of Suchitra Sen’s life stories. Among the regular actresses of our TV media, Tareen is one of the talented and versatile actresses. To cast her in any work nothing to say about her character while shooting. She can easily understand what I want only to see my eyes’ expressions. She always tries to give her level best while working. For this reason, I always try to cast her and also to prefer her to work. I also love her acting.”
Tareen shared her feelings by this way, “In ‘package play,’ Selim Bhai was my first co-actor. During that time both Selim Bhai and Hakim Bhai inspired me a lot which I couldn’t express in a word. Only for them I had become confident in acting. I got many opportunities to work under his direction and also to act with him. To come into this position in media, Selim Bhai’s directed plays obviously played a vital role in my career. As a result, when he proposes me to work under his direction I couldn’t regret him. In fact, he is such a director who knows well how to give direction.”
It is noted that Selim and Tareen last worked together in a drama serial titled Grandmaster. Both of them are now engaged with next Eid’s works.
