A fierce bowling spells by Tanvir Islam lend a hand to Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity to earn an emphatic six-wicket victory over Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in the tenth round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League on Friday.
Chasing a paltry winning target of 182-run set by Mohammedan, Khelaghar comfortably reached home for the loss of four wickets with 51 balls to spare.
Amit Mujumder scored top with 76 runs while Ashok Menariar led Khelaghar towards the victory to remain unbeaten on 56.
Qazi Onik and Gurinder Singh shared two Khelaghar’s wickets each conceding 33 and 37 runs respectively.
Earlier, despite s solid 73-run opening stand by Jony Talukder (55) and Enamul Haque(2) (32) Mohammedan cheaply dismissed a paltry total of 181 in 45.4 overs, after they decided to bat first at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.
Tanvir Islam, the wrecker in-chief, caused the major damage for Mohammedan as he grabbed four wickets giving away 30 runs. He was well supported by Moinul Islam who captured two wickets for 14.
