Tanvir sets up 8-wicket win for Khelaghar in relegation league

A six-wicket haul by Tanvir Islam enabled Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity to register an overwhelming eight-wicket victory over Partex Sporting Club in the relegation league match of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Monday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium.
Chasing a paltry winning target of 74 runs, Khelaghar hardly had to sweat as they comfortably reached home making 77 runs for the loss of two wickets with 209 balls remaining.
Opener Robiul Islam Robi top scored with 34 runs and also shared 57-run second wicket stand with Amit Mujumder (23 n.o) to guide Khelaghar towards the facile victory, after the departure of Salahuddin Pappu (15).
Nuruzzaman and Imran Ali shared one wicket each for Partex.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Partex faced serious batting debacle and eventually were bundled out for only 73 in 25.1 overs. Only three Partex batsmen -skipper Irfan Sukkur (27), Nuruzzaman Masum (12 n.o) and Jubair Ahmed (11) were able to reach the double figures.
Tanvir Islam was the wrecker-in-chief with flattering figure of six wickets for 18 runs. He was well supported by Dolar Mahmud who bagged two wickets conceding 22 runs. Besides, Robiul Islam and Al Menaria also chipped in with wicket apiece .
Tanvir Islam of Khelaghar for match winning bowling spell was named the player of the match.
