After winning the first Test by 64 runs in Chattogram, Bangladesh will go into the second Test against Windies in Dhaka with a view to clinching a rare Test series victory.
But whether or not Bangladeshi side will get the boost of Tamim Iqbal return is still a matter anywhere near certainty.
Following the Chattogram win, Bangladesh Test skipper Shakib Al Hasan had voiced his optimism that Tamim might make a return in the second Test.
However, Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu is still not quite sure. “We are yet to receive complete update regarding Tamim’s injury from the team’s physio. As far as I am concerned, he is making quick recovery, though.”
He also informed that Tamim will have to go through another thorough check-up before the second Test to make sure if he is really hundred percent fit for playing. “We will have him check up on November 28. Only then will we get to know if he is ready to play the Dhaka Test.”
The chief selector further added, “Even if he can not play the second Test, hopefully he will play from the first ODI onwards.”
Tamim was not included in the 13-member squad for the first match as he had suffered a side strain in training, after recovering from the hand injury.
The second and last Test between Bangladesh and Windies will roll onto the ground at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on November 30.
