Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal left the city on Friday for England to take part in the T20 Cricket of County Cricket Championship. Tamim will play for Essex Eagles in the tournament. Tamim reached England on Saturday. Earlier, Tamim played for Hampshire in County Cricket Championship in 2011. Tamim Iqbal is highly delighted to get chance to play in County Cricket Championship. He said, ” I played in County Cricket Championship six years ago. To play in County Cricket Championship is a dream for every cricketer. Hoping that to play for Essex will be an experience for me. It will help me to develop my batting.”
Meanwhile, it will be tough task for Tamim to play in all the matches of the tournament. The Australia series will be held next month. South Africa will tour Bangladesh this year. Besides, BPL is knocking at the door.
It may be mentioned that Essex proposed Tamim Iqbal to play for Essex in County Cricket Championship after the Team Management of Essex watching the outstanding batting performance of Tamim against England and Australia in the ICC Champions Trophy.
Earlier, Tamim got to chance to play five matches for Hampshire in County Cricket Championship in 2011.
