Japanese investment sought in gas exploration

Bangladesh on Tuesday sought Japanese investment in gas exploration and technological support in boosting the efficiency of fertilizer factories.
“Japan can invest in gas exploration apart from providing technological support in boosting the efficiency of Bangladesh’s fertilizer factories,” said Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu at a meeting with Japanese Ambassador Shiro Sadoshima at his Shilpa Bhaban office.
They discussed various issues related to bilateral cooperation, including boosting efficiency in fertilizer production, enhancing productivity in agricultural sector, cooperation in the education sector and gas exploration.
The Industries Minister, at the meeting, said Japanese entrepreneurs could come forward to invest in Bangladesh’s agriculture sector.
He also said Japan can also hire manpower from Bangladesh in large number, according to a media release.
The Japanese envoy appreciated investment prospect in Bangladesh and assured that Japan’s support for the socioeconomic development of Bangladesh will continue.
