BSS, Dhaka :
Bangladesh swashbuckling opener Tamim Iqbal is likely to miss the part of India T20 and Test series due to personal reasons.
Tamim’s availability will depend on a certain medical test, said Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Cricket Operations chairman Akram Khan.
“Whether he can be available for the whole series will be understood within two or three days,” Akram said here on Thursday. As far as I am concerned, it will be understood after a medical test.
“If he doesn’t go then someone else will replace him. We are observing the situation whether he can go from the beginning. However, we always have backup plays made,” Akram added.
If Tamim is unavailable, Imrul Kayes is likely to be his replacement.
Tamim and his wife is expecting their second child, which is why the opener wants to be with his wife as she needs some medical test, said a board official.
Bangladesh are set to play a three-match T20I series in India, starting from November 3 before they play a two-match Test series with the first Test slated to begin from November 14.
