Tamim Iqbal uncertain for Zimbabwe Test

Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal is uncertain for the lone Test match against Zimbabwe. Tamim Iqbal, who played for Prime Bank Cricket Club in the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Cricket got injury in his knee when he played his team in the Round Robin League on June 17. Tamim could not take part in the Super League of DPL Cricket.
The left-hand opener has been advised to take two-week rest to recover from a knee injury. Tamim left Dhaka for the tour of Zimbabwe with Bangladesh Cricket (Test) squad on June 29.
The lone Test match between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will start at Harare Sports Club Ground in Harare of Zimbabwe from July 7. After getting injury in his knee Tamim passed 13 days. But still now he cannot recover from injury. If Tamim can recover from his injury before July 7, Bangladesh have to play the only Test match against Zimbabwe without their highest scorer in Test cricket.
Chief Physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Dr Debashish Chowdhury said to a local website, ” Tamim is not totally okay now. So, we have advised him to take rest. But he will not avoid practice. He will go to field and take part in the net session and also do running and stretching. If he feels problem during his practice session he will take rest. There are seven days to start the only Test match. If he cannot totally recover from his injury his rest will be increased.”
Bangladesh Test team are now staying in Zimbabwe to take part in the lone Test match against the African side. Besides, the members of Bangladesh ODI and T20I teams will go to Zimbabwe to play three ODI matches and three T20I matches to play against the hosts.
Meanwhile, the members of Bangladesh Test squad underwent Covid-19 test in Zimbabwe. All the members of Bangladesh Test squad have tested negative for coronavirus.
