Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal started practice at Potchefstroom in South Africa on Monday.
Earlier, Tamim Iqbal got injury in his foot while he was batting on the first day (Thursday) of the three-day warm-up match between Bangladesh and Cricket South Africa Invitation XI at Benoni in South Africa. Later, Soumya Sarkar, the other opener got injury in his hand while he was fielding on the second day (Friday) of the three-day warm-up match.
After the three-day warm-up match, Physiotherapist of Bangladesh National Cricket team Thihan Chandramohan said, ” The physical condition of the two openers is well.”
The Team Management of Bangladesh hoping that they will perform in the first Test, which begins on September 28.
Tamim did not take part in the full-fledged practice session. He participated in the light practice with the physiotherapist. Then he did warm-up with Coach Chandika Hathurusingha.
Best all-rounder of world cricket Shakib Al Hasan did not play in the first Test match against South Africa. Bangladesh team may suffer the absence of Shakib. So, Bangladesh Team Management did not expect that Bangladesh team will play in the first Test match against South Africa without dependable opener Tamim Iqbal. Team Management is trying hard for the participation of Tamim in the ensuing first Test.
