Court to govt: Take steps to bring back Nur

A local court has ordered the Home and Foreign ministries to take steps for bringing back Nur Hossain, the prime suspect of the seven-murder case, from India through the Interpol.
The order which was issued by Chief Judicial Magistrate Chandni Rupam on Sunday reached officer-in-charge of district Detective Branch of police Mamunur Rashid Mondal, also the investigation officer of the case, on Tuesday, said sub-inspector Ashrafuzzman of the court police.
After the gruesome killing of seven people, including Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarker, in late April, Nur Hossain fled to India. But, Indian police arrested him on June 14 and he has been in Indian jail since then.
On April 27, Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam, his three associates and driver were abducted by miscreants from Fatullah area of Narayanganj. Soon, senior lawyer at district Judge’s Court Chandan Kumar Sarker and his driver were also abducted on their way to capital Dhaka.
Three days into their abduction, the bodies of six people, including that of Nazrul and Chandan Kumar, were recovered from the Shitalakhya River on April 30. The following day, the body of Jahangir, car driver of Nazrul Islam, was recovered from the river.
