LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam called for formulating a 100-200 years master plan to make the mega city Dhaka as livable for its citizens.
“Now we are working on our 7th five-year plan. We will have to make 100-200 years master plan to make Dhaka city livable for citizens,” he said this on Sunday while speaking at a view-exchange meeting on “modern civic service and what to do” at Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) office here.
DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon, State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Swapan Bhattacharya, Local Government Division Senior Secretary S.M. Ghulam Farooque and DSCC Chief Executive Officer Mostafizur Rahman attended the meeting, among others.
The minister said no law could be formulated without keeping in mind the matter of playground for the children, teenagers and youths in Dhaka metropolis.
“If required, city corporation act would be changed again. If any programme is taken by engaging people, it will bring positive results,” he said.
Islam urged the officials and employees of DSCC to work unitedly with sincerity and honesty for the welfare of the city and the country.
“You have to keep eye on whether the citizens are facing any problem. We have to work concertedly to reinstate the Dhaka city in a satisfactory condition,” he said.
