Tailors passing busy days ahead of Eid in Sylhet

The tailoring shops and fashion houses are crowded by the buyers in the Sylhet city at the second week of Ramadan now. The tailors and designers are passing their busy days ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to the sources, there are more than 600 tailoring shops and several thousands of tailors are making the dresses for the city dwellers.
Most of the top tailoring shops in the city are famous in the country. Of these, Belmonty. DM, Doly, Century, Belmontee, Sotorupa, Numan, Amanah, Master Tailors are most popular to the city dwellers.
Meanwhile, the posh tailors in the Sylhet city have already stopped to take order of new dresses now.
As a result, the tailoring shops and designers are passing their busy days for making dresses in the city now. The delivery of the orders will be given after June 20 next, said the owners of tailors in the Sylhet city.
On the other hand, the some of the renowned tailoring shops already stopped to take orders for shirt, pant, salwar and camij and other gents and ladies wears after the first week of Ramadan in the port city. So, the gathering at the tailoring shops in the city to give orders is declined now, but, gathering is increasing for delivery of dresses.
Tahmina Khanam, a housewife said, we have given the orders before Ramadan. Now, we are collecting the dresses from tailoring shops from different shopping malls. Tanny Begum, another housewife and teacher of a school said,
”We used to stitch our dresses. So, we give the order to the tailors. We have given some orders before Ramadan while we will give some orders now. So, we will take the ready dresses. As a result, we have to come to the tailoring shops almost regularly.”
M Ahmed Ali, owner of Satarupa Tailors and Fabrics, a branded enterprise in the Sylhet city said, ”We have stopped to take orders before Ramadan. As our customers are almost fixed, now we are trying to satisfy our regular customers. Besides, some new customers who gave order before Ramadan, we are completing their dresses.”
