Tagore’s birth anniversary observed at JU

The 157th birth anniversary of Bishwakabi Rabindranath Tagore was celebrated on the Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus.
To mark the day, JU Bishwakabi Rabindranath Tagore hall organised a discussion, said a press release on Wednesday.
JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam addressed the function as the chief guest.
Addressing the function, she said, “Rabindranath Tagore introduced Bengali nation and literature with the world. He is the symbol of Bengali’s ever existence.”
Presided over by Hall Provost Professor Abdullahil Kafi, JU Treasurer Professor Sheikh Md Monjurul Huq addressed the function as special guests while Professor of English Literature Ahmed Reza delivered keynote speech at the function, the release added.
