The Korea Ambassador Cup Taekwondo Championship began at the Gymnasium of National Sports Council on Thursday.
Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Lee Yun Young inaugurated the taekwondo competition as the chief guest while Principal of Eden Women’s College Professor Hosne Ara and former footballer of Bangladesh National Football team Kaisar Hamid were with him as special guests.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation Mahmudul Islam Rana was present at the time.
President of Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation Kazi Morshed Hossain Kamal presided over the inaugural ceremony.
Rakibul Islam Sifat of BKSP clinched gold medal in the men’s junior (45 to 55 kg category) while Nafisa Maliat of Dhanmondi Club begged gold medal in the women’s junior (45 to 55 kg category).
Today the taekwondo meet will come to an end. Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation Md Sayeed Khokon will distribute the prizes among the winners as the chief guest while Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Lee Yun Young will be with him as the special guest.
