MSC-2012 result not published at RU: Tabulation sheet tempering, forging of thesis alleged

The result of masters’ (MSC-2012) year final examination of Applied Mathematics Department at Rajshahi University has not been published yet due to political feud among the teachers even though over two years have passed since the examination took place.
The feud was knocked with the allegation of tempering tabulation sheet and forging thesis paper against BNP-backed teacher Prof Shamsul Alam Sarker.
Students of the department expressed their frustration as they were suffering lot at the end of their academic life for not getting result.
Department sources said, Prof Shamsul Alam increased the number of a student to appoint him as a teacher in the Department.
“Prof Alam along with Shamima Sultana, associate professor of the department tempered the tabulation sheet of MSC-12 thesis batch. Even, Prof Alam requested the second examiner of thesis, who was teacher of Jahangirnagar University to increase the number of that student”, sources also said.
Then, Dr Abdul Haque, Chairman of the department submitted written allegation to the university registrar and controller of examinations but Prof Alam denied the allegations straightway.
On September last year, after getting written allegation of tempering tabulation sheet and forging thesis paper the university vice chancellor Prof Muhammad Mizanuddin sent a letter to the department through examination controller section asking the decision of academic committee meeting. As per direction, chairman of the department called for meeting on Dec 28 last year. 7 teachers out of 10 agreed to publish result in that meeting while 3 others including chairman Dr Abdul Haque who were ruling party backed disagreed. And chairman sent a letter to the controller of examinations stating that the meeting failed to reach any decision.
Later, BNP backed teachers also informed the controller about their decision.
As most of the teachers agreed in academic committee, the authority approved the publication of result at the beginning of this year. But two days later, the authority postponed their decision due to unknown reasons.
Wishing anonymity, a teacher of the department said, AL backed teachers including chairman were in good relation with Prof Shamsul Alam Sarker. But the feud was knocked between them for unknown reasons at the end of last year. Joyonto Karmaker, one of the victims said, I came here from poor family. Now me and my family are passing the days in unpleasant condition for not getting result.
Many students expressed their sufferings while talking to New Nation.
Denying the allegations, Prof Shamsul Alam Sarker told that he was the supervisor of that student in thesis work adding that there is no scope to supervisor for marking in masters’ thesis.
“Someone tried to hurt my image as I am active in a party politics”, he also said.
Dr. Abdul Haque, chairman of the department could not be reached over phone despite repeated efforts.
Meanwhile, a three member probe body was formed in this regards headed by Prof Rezaul Karim of biochemistry and molecular science department. But the body has not submitted report yet after seven months.
Contacted, Abdul Gafur, deputy controller of examinations (result) said, as the probe body was formed to investigate the allegations of tempering tabulation sheet and forging thesis paper, we could not publish result until the report is published.
Prof Rezaul Karim, chairman of probe body told that
they would submit report soon as the probe work almost has been finished.

Contacted, RU Pro-VC Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan told that he had asked the probe body to submit report soon in several times adding that hope the body would submit report as soon as possible.
