T-20 Female Cricket Competition begins in Gaibandha

A T-20 Female Cricket Competition began at Shah Abdul Hamid Stadium of the town here on Saturday amid much enthusiasm.
Gaibandha Zila Krira Sangstha (GZKS) and SKS Foundation have jointly arranged the competition, sources said.
Whip of the Jatiya Sangshad and local lawmaker Mahabub Ara Begum Gini formally inaugurated the competition through releasing balloon at the stadium on Saturday as the chief guest. Police Super Engineer Abdul Mannan Miah and chief executive of SKS Foundation Rasel Ahmed Liton were present at the event as special guests.
With vice president of GZKS Abdul Latif Hakkani in the chair, the inaugural session was also addressed, among others, by general secretary of GZKS and also mayor of Gaibandha Municipality Advocate Shah Masud Zahangir Kabir Milon, treasure Wahid Murad Lemon and executive member Masudul Haque.
Speaking on the occasion whip of the Jatiya Sangshad Mahabub Ara Begum Gini said Bangladesh had already achieved fame in cricket globally.
Like the national cricket team, the female one would also enhance the image of the country through showing the better performance. She said that such the cricket competition would help get best players from the ground level.
She also urged all to enjoy the matches and inspire the players and sought the overall success of the competition.
Later, a charity match was held between Red team and Green team of the town. In the match, Red team beat Green team by 3 runs.
A total of 8 teams are taking part in the competition, sources said.
