Bangladesh Cricket team, captained by Mahmudullah Riyad will face New Zealand Cricket team, led by Tom Latham in the 4th Twenty20 International (T20I) match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur today. The match will begin at 4.00pm (BST). Private satellite channel GTV, private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live from the arena.
Bangladesh made an auspicious start as they thrashed the Kiwis by seven wickets in the first T20I at the same venue on September 1.
The hosts retained their success as they recorded a thrilling four-run win over the Black Caps in the second T20I at the same venue on September 3.
The tourists fought back as they defeated the home side by 52 runs in the third T20I at the same venue on September 5.
If Bangladesh win the today’s match, Bangladesh will clinch the T20I series with one match in the hand.
On the other hand, if New Zealand register victory in the today’s game, the winner of the series will be decided in the fifth and final T20I at the same venue on September 10.
Opener Liton Das of Bangladesh said, ” Batting performance in this wicket is challenging. Every batsman tries to make a big score. But it is difficult to do that in this turning pitch. All batsmen have an attacking attitude in this format.”
He said, ” As all the matches are low-scoring so it is a tough task to hit four or six. I think if the openers perform well, rest of the batsmen have chance to earn victory by scoring easily.”
Henry Nicholls of New Zealand said, ” The condition of here is different and difficult. Our top-order batsmen knew that the condition and other things of here are totally different than our country. We can perform attacking cricket in our country. But it is difficult to do that here. On Sunday, Finn Allen tried to dominate the Bangladesh bowlers. After that, we got confidence.”
