Syllabus of Class VI to VIII to be business-oriented

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Sunday said, the Education Ministry is going to take initiative to make the syllabus of Class VI to Class VIII business oriented.
 “The Education Ministry is working to prepare syllabus for all the classes of world standard. If it is implemented, the overall situation of education will be improved,” Nahid said.
The minister was speaking at a roundtable discussion titled “Investment in Education to Achieve Sustainable Development Target: Pre-Budget Thinking” as the chief guest held in the BRAC Center on Sunday.
BRAC Center and Debate for Democracy jointly organised the discussion.
Executive Director of BRAC Dr Muhammad Musa presided over the function while Professor Shafiq Ahmed Siddique, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Notre Dame University Fr. Benjamin Costa and PSC and BRAC Education Project Director Md Shariful Islam spoke the discussion, among others.
Nurul Islam Nahid said, the Education Ministry has been demanding for more allocation in the education sector in the National Budget to ensure quality education.
He thanked the Finance Minister for agencies to the demand for more allocation in the education sector in the upcoming budget.
 “I informed the Prime Minister about the progress of education in the recent time. She congratulated the Education Ministry and assured that the allocation to be enhanced,” he said.
