The main Eid congregation (jamaat) in Sylhet city will be held at the Sylhet Shahi Eidgah Ground at 8.30am on the Eid day.
Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) and the district administration are to organise the programme.
A preparatory meeting was held today at the conference room of the district administration in a view of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr in a befitting manner with Sylhet deputy commissioner Md. Joynal Abedin in the chair.
The meeting also decided to hold three Eid congregations at 8.00am, 9.00am and 10.00am at the Town Jame Mosque in case of inclement weather.
A total of 100 Eid jamaats will be held in the city, of which the City Corporation has organised 31 jamaats in 31 wards Eidgahs under the direct supervision of respective ward councilors.
Besides, different mosques committees will arrange Eid jammats at their respective Eidgahs.
To mark the occasion, SCC, district administration and different organisations have chalked out elaborate programmes which include hoisting of national flags atop all buildings, decoration of main city thoroughfares and road island with miniature flags and festoons inscribed with “Eid Mubarak” both in Bengali and Arabic and illumination of important buildings.
