Maximum roads of Sylhet city are now in dilapidated condition, carpeting removed and all roads are now ditches. By- lanes of the city suffer much. Stagnant rain water hamper plying of vehicle. City dwellars suffer much.
In a field visit it is found that main road of Sylhet-Sunamgong route, Subid Bazar, Modina Market, Pathantula.
In Sylhet-Tamabil route Eidgah, Tilagor, Partial Majortila, Zinda Bazar, Uposhahor, Naya Sorok in short 27 words of the city roads are now like ditches.
People suffer much specially in the name of construction Jalalabad R/A pass time under deplorable condition.
A Kalam, a resident of that area said , we do not know when the work will end. Student and senior Citizen face much problem. College student Shamim demanded immediate end of work. Bangobir road of South Surma has same condition.
In rain stagnant wates enter their house and shop. Many ditches exist in the road. Vehicle ply under danger. In front of Nurjahan College that road is like a pond. Student cross it with danger. It is alleged that RHD and SCC is neglecting to road construction.
Nazmul Ahsan a passenger of that of that road said many big holes are exist. Due to rain they are dangerous.
Last Friday two tomtom turned turtle. But the road is not repair yet. Sub-lanes face some problem. vehicle ply in snails pace. Due to stagnant rain water the roads are dangerous. Specially for small vehicles are facing risk. Their parts are inactive in the road. In create traffic Jam. This monsoon Maximum roads are fecame ditches. Their bitumen, Concrete and people are missing. But SCC demanded that due to unfavorable weather their construction became hampered.
SCC Chief Engineer (In- charge) Noor Azizur Rahman said due to unfavorable weather work of SCC hampered.
Expatriate donates Tk 15 lakh to Sylhet Diabetic hospital
Life member of Sylhet diabetic hospital, Reknowned social worker Shibbir ahmed hira and Shiria Begum donated TK 15 Lakh to dialectic hospital sylhet for its Opthamology Department to purchase spare parts and they donate yearly TK one lakh to purchase insulin for poor patient.
On Wednesday at 5 PM. a meeting was held in the conference room. Here they declare it and give cheque. Presided over by executive committee member Jamal Ahmed Chowdhury and Conducted by Lokam Ahmed. SCC Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury as a Chief guest on the programme.
In the discussion those who take part are A Samad Nazrul, Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, Syed Sujat Ali, Joint Treasurer Debobrota Bhoumik, Pr A Z Mahbub Ahmed Supervisor of Sylhet Diabetic hospital, R.S Dr. Lolit Mohan nath, Formar chairman Borlekha Sador Up Zahidul Islam Masum etc.
