Syed Mamun of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) put up a brilliant display to claim both the singles and double title of the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) Table Tennis Tournament held on Monday at the JPC.
The tournament is a part of the celebrations on the occasion of its 58th founding anniversary.
Syed Mamun hardly had to sweat as he outplayed Enamul Haque Chowdhury in the final by 11-3 and 11-8 in the straight 2-0 sets. Kazi Rawnak Hossain finished third beating Anwaruddin of BSS.
In the doubles final once again Syed Mamun former member of Daily star pairing with Enamul Haque Chowdhury dethroned reigning champions Faisal Mukkamal OF Bangladesh Bank and Kazi Rawnak Hossain duo by 11-6-11-7 in an exciting double finals.
Bakhtiar Rana of BSS along with his colleague Anwaruddin won the third position in doubles event by 11-5-and 11-5 point in a one-sided match.
Earlier, before the start of the competition, general secretary of Jatiya Press Club Syed Abdal Ahmed was introduced to the participants.
Chess, Spade Triumph, Shooting competition, Marathon, Art competition and number of events for women and children will be held in the next week.
